Kitty Update
Not horrible but not the best - he has a bad urinary tract infection but also probably has a lot of age-related kidney issues (the blood test numbers are really high).

They'll keep him at the vets until Monday on antibiotics and also basically trying to flush out the kidneys, then we'll see what another set of blood tests tells us.

I hope that the kidney numbers drop when the infection clears up.

If it turns out that he has Chronic Renal Failure, don't despair; I know a number of people whose cats lived for several years with regular hydration (which means the cats also learned to tolerate the hydration).

Our little cat has had chronic renal failure for the past two years. She's a smelly old puss, who spends most of her time huddled by a warm radiator, but she's still here with us. And as long as she still wants to live, we want her to live with us.

Positive thoughts (and purrs) to your kitty.
