General Updatiness
Scraping is about 20 square feet away from being all done. While not yet painted, the house will definitely be Not Pink.

Insulation is complete now that there were clear roofs for them to get to the last of it. Eagerly awaiting next gas bill to see how we did. At the same time, am having my usual two-steps-forward-one-step-back construction experience building the L-girder joists to raise the existing level in the attic so I can put a floor down for storage. I have about 36 square feet done, I need at least double that. But, at least I can put a oil-filled radiator space heater up there now for when I am working...

Weight loss took off after Christmas, probably just needed to get beyond a point where the metabolism got stuck. Current status:

That's BELOW 14 STONE!

Counting days until we leave for the UK filk con, stopping before and after micktim and stevieannie and J and E and fleetfootmike and family. Luggage may be an issue due to more security theater and the rising cost of checking luggage. We are considering borrowing guitars and just bringing mandolin/bodhran/whistles.

And, in final news, last night I was officially elected President of the Board of Directors for the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Hendricks County. Lots of work to do this year - positive work, but still work.

Congratulations and condolences! That's a huge job no matter how big or small the congregation. Only the treasurer gets to roll their eyes at you now. :)

You are more than welcome to borrow our guitars - Tim's Takamine has a nice heavy, jazzy action and tone, whilst my Yamaha is quite light and froofy. Either are yours. They have to live in the hotel whilst we commute anyhows - roomspace for them would be really fab...

I would offer Tim's bodhran as well, but I don't think it's as nice as Mom's!

And congrats on the election! Wow! That sounds like a lot of work but a great chance to do good stuff in Hendricks County.

Looking forwards to seeing you soon!
