Musings On The Age
I suppose we all get a little blindsided when we reach the age where news from friends is almost as likely to involve death and pain as it is to involve love and joy.

It hasn't been too long ago, technology-wise, when we would learn about people with whom we had lost contact only through word along the grapevine that they had died. Now, with LJ and Facebook and so many other social networks, we can re-establish some of those conversations and relationships before the opportunity is gone. What a wonderful effect of such a muddled world.

Right now, I'm taking a moment from my life to wave at all of you out there and share *hugs* and let you know how glad I am to be in touch.

Well in that case I should warn you that my next LJ entry will probably be about pain. I will be (no foolin') doing some forestry trailblazing for a new path on the Audubon property. I expect to be muchly sore and tired after chopping my way through the shrubbery.

I will not, however, drop dead. Promise.

I lost contact with the world of SF fandom and filk over 15 years ago, before internet. We never met but I had bought one of your tapes (Past Due, if I'm correct, with my favorite song, Cruiser Dreaming). The tape got lost (if scientists ever find a discrepancy as to the amount of matter in the universe, check with me first) but the name stuck. Thus, I found you back.
I found quite a few sf/filk friends although I've been unsuccessful re-establishing contact. Still, it was good to see they are still around. Except for one guy, who, when I was searching for him, to my dismay, turned up the victim of murder. So it goes.
