Giggin' with Wild Breakfast
Finally getting an opportunity to say how much book-kickin' music-munchin' fun ladyat and I had last Sunday mixing it up with 75% of Wild Mercy. The opportunity came along because harperjen had a conflict and couldn't make the date - so min0taur, tollers, and Sally WINOLJ invited us to join them for it.

We emailed back and forth to get a general set list, then hit the rehearsal room for a couple of (well-fed!) practice sessions. Come the day, we showed up, loaded in and set up (amazingly quickly) and played for 2 hours straight. In spite of stressful days, general vocal-chord attacking bugs, and dog-chewed fingers, I thought it went extremely well. Most importantly, we all had a blast doing it.

It'll be grand to see if we can try to get together with the full complement and work up a set or two of music.

So, if I happened to get a Wild Mercy soundtrack from iTunes... Bad or good for Wild Mercy's funds, compared to CD Baby?

That's a very good question... for which I can probably find a very good answer...

*pokes around on CDBaby*

*does math*

I think we make about 50 cents more through CD Baby, after you figure in the fact that iTunes doesn't actually cost us a physical CD from inventory. :-)

Also, if you want Furious Fancies, it's only on CD Baby for now 'cause I'm still trying to track down digital distribution info for one song, which I think I may have finally accomplished.

If you're wanting Summer Storm, though, it's in both places, and you'd be our first iTunes sale, which would rock, really, just for the geeky coolness factor!

I'll pick up Summer Storm on iTunes, then! And ponder the whole "send money, wait time" thing for CD Baby for the other one. Since, well, that is 50 cents more for y'all. (But less instant gratification for me, alas, alack!)

Instant gratification is a good thing! I buy tons of stuff from iTunes and honestly, it was kinda cool to do the math and realize that we really _do_ make almost as much off those as off physical sales. And honestly, by the time you factor in what it costs me to ship CDs to CD Baby for the physical sales, that knocks a bit off what we're making on those, so the whole thing pretty much comes out even. :-)

Well -- I've bought and downloaded the Summer Storm "CD" now, so you've got an iTunes sale and can see how well the process works for y'all? O:>

(And I am glad to know it comes out so well.)

The Wild Breakfast gig rocked! And Jen's all excited about us doing more stuff together so she can join the fun too.

Oh, and I lost my voice the next day, but I'm not actually sick so I'm blaming mine on the dry air in the library... it being good for books and not so good for vocal chords.
