In Which We Hurry Up And Wait
Short story - no bite on the house. Currently, we're trying to clean up the existing vinyl floor so it looks presentable enough to give us time to offer a replacement allowance with the sale. I spent a couple of days peeling up the seam and carefully gluing and weighing it down so it would lay flat. ladyat will be filling in the gap with the seam sealer so as to (hopefully) make it unnoticeable.

Son A. brought the evictions truck (from the company he works for!) to pick up the Big Television and the Big Television Furniture and haul it to their new apartment. Luckily I had already boxed up all the DVDs and various tchotchkes, making our job (well, my job) just one of unhooking the stereo gear (which he was not getting). Once the furniture was moved, though, 10 years of dog and cat hair and an expanse of wall faced us. Some brief cleanup made it presentable, but ladyat is spending some time this week painting the walls and ceiling to freshen up the room. I prepared the other walls by taking down all the pictures (along with my display rack of my grandfather's steam engines) and filling all the holes and stuff. I then got in the car and drove back to Indiana - anything to avoid painting, my friends, anything to avoid painting.

I are now officially a Hoosier again, having gotten my Indiana driver's license and put new Rose-Hulman plates on the Miata. I also brought the Household Computer (that would be the desktop with the accounts and the games and the mp3s on it) with me and have it back on line, so now the Georgia house is the Transitional Computing one.

We plan on being here for a couple of weeks (ladyat comes up Aug 5th with a van full of sound equipment (and probably also full of dog)), then we return to Atlanta for some meetings before we leave for Worldcon. With any luck the house will have an offer by then...

I'll keep my fingers crossed for a solid offer. I'm sure it'll be nice to not be living back and forth between two different states!
