Sundry Updates
My dad is doing very well, both from the pulmonary embolism and his previous back surgery. Yay! He'll actually get to go visit his Florida Home for a change this winter, leaving sometime right after New Year's. It will be odd to make the next trip to Danville and not have him around.

There is now a dishwasher installed and functioning at the Danville House (note to self - must meditate on more descriptive and enjoyable name for said domicile). While we'll keep hand washing things like tea mugs and such, a dishwasher is a big time saver when we have large dinners or when ladyat plays "let's cook with every pan in the house!"

Holiday shopping proceeds apace. I've filled most of my responsibilities (ladyat gets to buy for grandkids - like I could stop her - and her side of the family, we're mostly done with the kids, and my side of the family is complete). I still have to get various consumables and stocking stuffers, but that's what Christmas Eve is for. Unfortunately, the weather will not be very Christmassy here, with temperatures of 60 degrees. Bah, humbug.

The New Year's Eve party, the last one in the current house, will be held as usual this year. We may do some special things - including putting notes out in neighborhood mailboxes - to mark the occasion. That's in addition to the traditional banging of pots and pans and anything else that makes noise after midnight.

autographedcat and I met yesterday with the hotel for GAFilk to confirm room availability and setup. Everything looks good so far for our last year in the Holiday Inn - we had to expand our room block yet again. Get your reservations before Christmas, and we hope to see you there!

The Yorkshire Tea supply looks to hold up until the trip to the UK for D'Zenove Convention, which means we won't have to pay ransom to Harry's Farmers' Market.
