Parent Medical Worries
Those of you who read ladyat's journal already know that my father went to the hospital last night with a blood clot that had passed through his heart and lodged in his lung. He spent the night in the ICU.

Right now the main symptom is that it hurts him a lot to breathe. The situation could become much worse than that, of course, should the clot break free and move to someplace nastier.

I called this morning and there's no change, the results of the enzyme test to make sure nothing blocked the blood feed to the heart haven't come in yet. They are putting him on Heparin to keep the clot from growing while they allow the body to absorb it.

Right now I'm still in Atlanta, though I will probably head up to Danville early tomorrow morning.

Any thoughts/prayers/candles to keep the clot from moving around or breaking up while it gets re-absorbed would be much appreciated.

Oh, Bill. *hugsyoutight* to you all... I just went thru something similar with my mother in September, but with mutiple clots in lungs and left leg. My heart goes out to you, as do lots and lots of positive wishes for a quick dissolve/reabsorb and a quick release from hospital/rehab. Coumadin and Heparin are wonderful drugs.

My heart goes out to both of you...and assuming that God hears the prayers of a wayward, rebellious, agnostic child of His Son's first Church, I will be happy to offer mine for your dad's full and swift recovery.
