I've a Pain in All the Diodes Down My Left Side
We've started on the tasks needed to get the house fixed up for potential selling starting in March. During the autumn these will mostly focus on the outside and the "curb appeal".

The dry summer left our lawn in tatters, with mostly dead grass topped by tufts of very ugly crabgrass. This weekend, while ladyat moved various plants around and neatened up the garden, I used a thatch rake to scrape clean the bulk of the yard, then mowed and overseeded a portion of it to see if I can successfully establish grass instead of weeds.

Luckily, watering restrictions do not apply to newly-seeded lawns, so we don't have to worry about day on day off scheduling. The fact that I hate using water at all during watering restrictions is, unfortunately, one of the reasons we're in this pickle. However, I feel justified in that even 2 weeks of watering is less than I would have used for the rest of the summer had I watered.

Our hope is to get a nice lovely lawn by the early spring so that potential buyers will come by the house and go "ooh" and "aaah" and give us asking price very quickly.

In reality, I think we've just fed the birds a nice meal of grass seed with a water chaser.

Next weekend is Autumnfest and the weekend after that I rent the Roto-tiller to dig in the rest of the yard and prepare it for seeding.

Sometime we need to get the fence people to get on the stick and replace the fence around the yard, and then we can get the painters in to paint the house.

And then we get to start on the Inside!

Looks like I'm going to need a lot more Aleve...

Best of luck with the readying - we're hoping to move in about 5 months or so and thus we're making the list of things that need doing here, too.
