The "Big Freeze"
Last night the weather reports all were making dire predictions of ice throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area. North of here (like where the_gwenzilliad lives) makes sense, as the elevations rise and the hills can be nasty with even the smallest amount of ice on them, but for the last few years predictions of a frozen Fulton County have fallen rather flat.

This morning we are right at the edge of freezing, with not enough wet on the roads to make ice. Cobb County schools are not closed (I heard bus noises this morning). The stretch of GA 400 north of my office (just above where autographedcat and kitanzi live) was iced over and closed off, but down here all seems rather calm.

Good thing I already have enough milk and bread.

The College Station Road bridge is iced over, and there was a 4-car wreck earlier this morning from local LJ user accounts. So far, outside my window it's wet and cold and the cars all have nice opaque windows now.

Bread and milk is all very well, but do you have beer? Didn't you read my severe weather survival tips?

Let's see ...

8 cans Abbott Ale
4 cans Tetley's
1 bottle St. Peter's Bitter
1 Lindemann's Framboise lambic
1 Lindemann's Kriek lambic
1 Dogwood winter ale

I might have enough to last until tomorrow. If I ration it.

If need be, I can break into the stock of single malt.

Well, that's a relief. Jeez! You had me worried. There's always someone who gets holed up in nasty weather without being properly provisioned and I just start hitting myself on the forehead saying "When (slap) will (slap) they (slap) ever (slap) learn? (slap) "

Naaah. You just like hitting yourself. Can't fool me.

Well, there is that, yeah, but you get to enjoy it after seeing so many folks who just (slap) don't (slap) learn! (slap) Oh! God! That felt good.
