Post-1812Tone Update
Seemed to go very well, most comments were positive (though it was pointed out at least once that maybe good old British reserve wouldn't allow complaints to non-British. Grin. That's a grin there.)

Hotel was fantastic. Should the hotel be used again there are a number of things that could be done differently (perhaps negotiate some bar prices, put up signs for the dealer area that was not at the foyer, perhaps not have a dealer area at the foyer due to noise seepage, etc.), but all of them well within the realm of learning the hotel and its quirks.

Best thing is that I think we have paid back some of the joy we've had in years of coming to the UK convention.

Whew.

As I was Not On The Committee (tm), I feel I'm allowed to make some comments.

I thought the staff at the hotel were *brilliant*, particularly Rory in the bar, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Every question or need I had during the weekend was sorted out swiftly and competently - from milk for the baby (a full pint - no charge) to a room key for Jared (who promptly dropped off to sleep and deadbolted the door, necessitating a night porter call - who was ALSO highly helpful).

The video feed into the Kid's Room was *wonderful*. It really helped to make those of us in there feel included in the concerts. Loved, loved, loved it.

The sound was *exceptionally* good this year. It is rarely bad, but it is rarely *this* good. Well done to everyone involved in set up and teching. A fabulous job.

I particularly enjoyed having some programme items geared towards more experienced musicians, who are often neglected in favour of more basic workshops. Tim had a total blast at the tune workshop in particular. I was completely outclassed, but enjoyed listening a LOT.

Some good circles - I didn't get to everything, but what I did, I enjoyed. It was nice seeing some chaos as well as some bardic.

The hotel *space*. The lounge was ideal, and there was a lot of circulation space. It worked wonderfully. I also loved the spa areas - swimming pool, hot tub and sauna... Mmmmm. Living as close as I do, I may enquire about health club membership ;-)

The lunchtime food - I thought it was excellent value for money - I got far more than I could eat for £6.50, and I fed both kids off my plate too. Just a shame that I ate so much breakfast (at 11am - how civilised was that?) that I couldn't really manage it on the Sunday.

All in all, a wonderful convention which I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of. Thankyou to everyone who helped to make it happen!

Thank you. Could say more but others have already said it better.
