That Questions Meme

1. IF YOU COULD BUILD A SECOND HOUSE ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE?

Wales. North Wales.

2. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ARTICLES OF CLOTHING?

Whatever fits. I tend to wear jeans and a polo/rugby shirt.

3. THE LAST CD YOU BOUGHT?

It has been a long time. I think it was either Radiohead "OK Computer" or Charlie Parker "Bird After Dark"

4. WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?

When the pager goes off. Recently, about 4 am.

5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE KITCHEN APPLIANCE?

My electric kettle. Tea, tea, must have tea in the morning.

6. IF YOU COULD PLAY AN INSTRUMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

In addition to what I already fake fairly well, I wish I could play either Uilleann Pipes or Saxophone.

Of what I already play, I wish I played piano better.

7. FAVORITE COLOR?

Blue, darker preferred.

8. WHICH VEHICLE DO YOU PREFER, SPORTS CAR, MOTORCYCLE, or SUV?

Sports car.

9. DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE AFTERLIFE?

Reincarnation ("Go back and try again!")

10. FAVORITE CHILDRENS' BOOK?

Define "children". I don't remember any of my "first reader" books being especially favored. The first book I remember being my favorite was a book called "Follow My Leader" by James B. Garfield, when I was about 9. I also liked "A Wrinkle In Time" by Madeleine L'Engle, "The Wonderful Flight To the Mushroom Planet" by Eleanor Cameron, and all the Hardy Boys books. And I still remember when I "graduated" to my mom's SF collection when she handed me Ray Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes".

11. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON?

Autumn in a place that actually has leaves changing, cool breezes, and the promise of a real winter.

12. IF YOU HAVE A TATTOO, WHAT IS IT?

Still trying to get the nerve up to have a celtic knotwork band put around my left ankle.

13. IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Flying - then maybe I wouldn't be so petrified of heights.

14. CAN YOU JUGGLE?

A little. Only three objects. Taught myself while doing all-night system backups many, many years ago.

15. ONE PERSON/PEOPLE FROM YOUR PAST YOU WISH YOU COULD GO BACK AND TALK TO.

I still really miss my Grandpa Lyon, especially now that I am one.

16. WHAT IS UNDER YOUR BED?

5,000 comic books that I've been trying to catalog and sell for about 7 years.

17. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DAY?

Any day where my pager doesn't go off.

18. WHICH DO YOU PREFER, SUSHI OR HAMBURGER?

I like Sushi just fine, but right now give me burgers.

19. FROM THE PEOPLE YOU WILL POST THIS TO, WHO'S THE MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND FIRST?

Everyone already has it, I'm always slow.

20. WHO'S THE LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND?

Me. Oh, I did already.

21. WHO DID YOU RECEIVE THIS FROM? OR TAKEN FROM THEIR LJ?

stevieannie

Chrisanthymumumumumumumumumumumumum ... er ... daisies.

23. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEAL?

Steak, sautéd mushrooms, asparagus, a good peppery Shiraz.

24. WHEN IS YOUR BIRTHDAY?

August

25. DESCRIBE YOUR PJs.

Usually flannel shorts or sweatpants

26. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BREAKFAST?

Completely unhealthy Full Fried Breakfast with everything (including Black Pudding)

27. DO YOU LIKE YOUR JOB?

Less and less by the day. I'm getting very tired of people who can't be bothered to do any troubleshooting at all before tossing things over the fence. You then spend literally hours to painstakingly reconstruct what was going on, only to find out they did something stupid or that everything is working the way it is supposed to.

28. WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB?

Master Brewer at a brewpub (with plenty of able-bodied assistants to shovel spent grains) or High-Powered Record Producer.

29. WHAT AGE DO YOU PLAN TO RETIRE?

I think I just hurt myself laughing. Sorry.

30. WHERE DID YOU MEET YOUR SPOUSE OR SIGNIFICANT OTHER?

CompuServe Space forum before the Science Fiction section broke off to its own forum. I had the 64Mfathom Virtual Hot Tub, she had the Drink Droid. The rest, as they say, is history.

BONUS: SOMETHING YOU'D LIKE TO DO THAT YOU'VE NEVER DONE BEFORE?

Go into space.
Hike the Appalachian Trail.
Be completely organized without spending all my time organizing.
