Pages O' Friends!
You know, going through the friends list after four or five days off line is really time consuming. Fascinating - but time consuming.

The weekend was wonderful. My grandmother loved seeing the baby, and we all had a very good time. It's getting harder and harder to say goodbye and come home, especially as she had a TIA in early May and now is no longer allowed to live alone. She has a friend living with her now until the apartment she picked at the assisted living center comes available, which could be anywhere from a month to a year, but it means she'll be leaving the house she and my grandfather were in for 40 years.

It meant I spent the weekend packing away tools and goodies from the train room instead of installing a DCC system (which I decided not to buy at the last minute, good decision there). Chuck was a huge help, and we got pictures of Elliott watching the train go around.

Went to Scarborough Faire, which is sort of the North Texas Renaissance Festival. It is compacted and cozy and tree-filled and shady and flat and has about twice the vendors and three times the stages (and much better beer!) than the Georgia faire. My cousin Eric and his friends all dress as bucklesquashing musketeer-era cavaliers, so their elegance contrasted interestingly with my no-nonsense (read: puir as a wee tim'rous beastie) kilted Scot.

If you are in the area and can get there, I must recommend Christophe The Insulter. Bawdy ... oh, why mince words, downright filthy, particularly at the Adults Only And I mean It show, but some real roaring zingers of the kind that make you just shake your head and thank the powers that were, are, and ever shall be that you aren't on the other end of it.

And then straight home and into 10-12 hour days of work.

Ahh, well. At least I'm home with my ... er ... um ... guess ladyat is still at work, huh.

Oh, and since everyone else is doing it ...

Christophe is wonderful. He's at the Ohio Faire as well. Last year we in the braiding booth (including patrons) took a collection of $50 and had him insult the person in the place most worthy to be insulted...himself. ;-)

Speaking of braiding - if you happened to see the booth Braided Image, Karen Ribble, the propietor, is the lady I work with at O-Ren.

Ouch! on the 10-12 hours at work.....
