The New DVD Player Is Here!
Hoody hoo! The new region-free PAL to NTSC converting DVD player hath arrived!

Based on specs, it should play almost everything under the sun (I think the only thing it doesn't play is SACDs). Consumer Reports rates it very highly when playing damaged disks, so it shouldn't barf on slightly grotty DVDs like the current POS does.

Anyone got any good non-Region 1 and/or PAL DVDs they want to send me?

Which model is it?

JVC XV-NA70BK modified by 220-electronics.

Working well so far on my Region 1 DVDs. Better than my old RCA, in fact. Haven't been able to test it on a Region 2 or PAL DVD yet.

I meant to mention this last night. the_gwenzilliad has a R2 copy of Blackadder on DVD. I remember being disappointed when I realized it after putting it in my DVD player.

I have quite a number of R2 DVDs.

The complete run of Stargate SG-1 to date, the complete run of Farscape... the complete run of Men Behaving Badly, Ultraviolet, the Prisoner, Father Ted, Allo Allo... more, probably.

Welcome to come over and rummage. :-)

We will definitely need to get together on the DVDs.

When do you head to Singapore?
