The Miata Is Dead
In proof that no good day goes unpunished, I got word that frame damage to the Miata would cost more to repair than it is worth, so they are totalling it out. The amount they are giving me makes sense based on the mileage and the condition, so I'm not upset about that (even though I won't get $500 of it for a couple of months). I hate to lose an old friend like this.

So, I'm off car shopping and looking for a similar deal.

Poor Miata's dead,
Poor MX-5 is dead.
It's lying on a towtruck made of steel (made of steel)...
And folks is feeling sad
Though they think it ain't so bad
'Cause each one comes inside a HappyMeal.

Poor Miata's dead
An oilspot marks its head,
It used to look so purty and so nice (and so nice)...
The damn thing was so small
It was near no car at all -
To see it once you had to lookit twice.

I'm sorry to hear about the demise of the car. :( Good luck in your shopping!

Sorry to hear about the little gas buggy biting the dust...

The question now is - what are you considering as a replacement? :)

Aw, that's sad. I'm glad I got to see her and ride in her once (OK, twice, to the mall and back).

Ever since my first car was totalled (rear-ended, it was repairable but the insurance didn't cover the damage and I couldn't afford to have it done myself) I have been determined to not become too attached to cars. It doesn't always work...
