GBBF Package and New Recording PC
My annual prezzy from highstone has arrived - the Great British Beer Festival listings book - with luck I'll be able to repay this yearly kindness with actual rounds next year. Haven't opened the package yet, savoring the anticipation...

Spent the bulk of Saturday afternoon at Fry's buying parts for a from-scratch rebuild of the Bedlam House music PC. Previous incarnations have just been used for mixing, but I am hoping to use the new one for recording as well. billroper loaned me an M-Audio Projectmix control surface to try out, so this should be quite an experiment.

All this is driven by the need to have a Bed and Breakfast Irish/Folk CD AND a Bill & Brenda Sutton Filk/Folk CD on the streets by next July.

When you've got the PC all sorted out, I'd be really interested on what you picked, how hard it was to set up, what external kit you link it to, and how good the result is ...

... want to do something similar (but cheaper!) at home ...

We haven't made it to the GBBF since we moved out of London, alas.

I like the idea of more Bill and Brenda CDs. Two more by July... well, if you hustle, and everything goes well, I think that is doable.
