Worldcon Wrap-Up
Back from Worldcon, Speedbump has headed off to Maryland with singedcat (*sad*), Jack is home from Dad's (where he slept the whole time. Why can't he at least sleep in when he's here?). Things are obviously getting back to some kind of "normal".

The music program at Worldcon went passably well. I don't think anyone will dare call it one of the best, but it certainly wasn't one of the worst. With Music Night being Thursday, the sound in the big booming slapback chamber had to be worked out during the first few concerts - a shame, really, but Seanan's concert still went very well and Leslie also had a great crowd. If we were to do it over again (which we will not, I assure you, no, no, that's my story and I'm sticking to it) we would probably have tried to run the concerts earlier with a break in the middle and ending before 6. Unfortunately, what with losing Monday to requirements for setting up and rehearsing Closing Ceremonies, we had to cram more concerts in than we would have liked - and even at that we couldn't accommodate everyone.

The theme filks and night filks seemed to be well attended without overwhelming any single room, which is what we had wanted to see.

Next year promises to be crazy busy and fun - ladyat and I are guests at Detcon 1, the North American Science Fiction convention, in July, then comes the whirlwind of August where I will head to London to attend the Great British Beer Festival (yay!) and then join Brenda for LonCon 3, the 72nd World Science Fiction Convention, followed by Shamrokon, the 22nd Eurocon, in Dublin. In both places were are hoping (if everything works out) to be playing in Dead Sexy to backup concerts by Seanan McGuire.

Meanwhile, it's working on the church pledge drive and then on Chambanacon!

Thank you for a fun filk track @ Worldcon. I got to meet a filker I had previously only known as a voice on tape at the con. (And they have CD reprints of their tapes, YEA!!!) See you @ OVFF.

Congratulations! (Both on surviving Worldcon and the guest slot at Detcon 1.)

I am thrilled that you and ladyat will be Detcon Guests of Honor!
